SpiritKeepers Native American Church was founded in 2016 in Blue Springs, Missouri — not as an institution, but as a circle. A gathering of people who heard the call of the ancient medicines and chose to answer it the right way: in ceremony, in community, in prayer.

The Root
A tradition older thanany of our names.
The Native American Church is one of the most significant Indigenous spiritual movements of the twentieth century — and its roots reach back through centuries of plant medicine practice across the Americas. The ceremonial use of peyote, the sacred songs, the all-night vigil, the water in the morning — these are not inventions. They are inheritances.
SKNAC carries that inheritance forward. We do not claim to own any tradition. We claim only our sincere commitment to walking it with integrity, and our legal right — affirmed by federal law — to do so.
The Circle
Every ceremony beginswith a question.
Why are you here? What do you carry? What do you ask the medicine to help you see? These are not intake forms. They are the beginning of prayer.
Our ceremonies are held in circle — no hierarchy, no performance. The fire is at the center. The people are around it. The medicine moves through the circle and does what medicine does: it reveals what was always already there.
The Four Directions We Walk
East
Illumination
The East brings the dawn. In ceremony it is the place of new vision — the medicine working, the veil thinning, the first light of what has always been true.
South
Growth
The South is warmth and trust. The place of the heart opening, of surrender, of allowing the medicine to move without resistance. The hardest direction for many.
West
Reflection
The West is the place of looking back without judgment. Integration lives here. The medicine has shown you something — the West asks you what you will do with it.
North
Wisdom
The North is the ancestors. The knowledge that was here before you and will remain after. The place of gratitude, of completion, of understanding that you are not walking alone.
The Keeper of the Fire
Our ceremonial lead has beenwalking this road a long time.
She did not come to the medicines looking for an experience. She came the way most people come — broken open by something ordinary, searching for something that wasn't available in the ordinary places. What she found in ceremony was not an escape. It was a return.
Since 2016 she has led SpiritKeepers as ceremonial operations lead — which in practice means she holds the container for every person who walks through these doors. She reads every application. She makes every approval by hand. She is the one who will check on you two days after your ceremony to see how you are landing.
